Quinn gets money from NJ
“Christine Quinn has the vote locked up — in New Jersey. Some of the top benefactors to the City Council speaker’s $4 million 2013 war chest for a presumed mayoral bid are from the other side of the Hudson.”

Quinn answers to special interests
“Councilmember Vallone has a much better chance of becoming Queens Borough President in 2013 then Speaker Quinn does of becoming Mayor. Vallone answers to a higher authority – the voters rather than special interest groups like Speaker Quinn.”

Vote against Quinn and get penalized
“There are clear consequences when you vote against the wishes of Speaker Quinn and speak your mind on behalf of constituents, taxpayers and common sense . . . Speaker Quinn sent a clear message to Councilmember Vallone when discretionary spending for his district was cut from $1,400,000 to $850,000 in the recently adopted 2011 municipal budget.”

Vote with speaker and get rewarded
“Under Speaker Quinn’s reign, it continues to be the usual political quid pro quo with councilmembers. Vote as instructed by the speaker and members will continue to receive the perks of office. These include salary bonuses for chairing Council committees, extra cash for local district offices, staff and mailings along with your share of several hundred million dollars available for funding local neighborhood pork-barrel projects to grease the wheels of re-election.”

24% to her own district
Even though the City has 51 Council districts, “24 percent of the distributions (slush funds assigned to fake charities) in fiscal year 2007 went to Quinn’s district.”

slush funds inconsistent with transparency
“The Council has budgeted more than $17 million dollars to fund fictitious organizations, freeing up those dollars to be distributed at the discretion of the Speaker’s Office. . . Reserves of this magnitude were inconsistent with the transparency she (Quinn) had brought to the earmarking process generally.”

Private park gets tax dollars
“A private, members-only park in Queens . . . has steadily received more taxpayer-funded grants under the watch of City Council Speaker Christine Quinn.”

Quinn overturned term limits – no democracy
“When Mr. Bloomberg wanted term limits lifted, she tossed aside previous promises and rammed the measure through without a referendum”

Defends Irish parade funding
While publicly criticizing the St. Patrick’s Day Parade for excluding gay people, Quinn funds the parade with tax dollars behind the scenes. The law states that the City cannot fund groups that discriminate, but Quinn defended the funding when exposed.
