Homosexuals interrupt
“Why did these homosexuals interrupt the homosexual Speaker while she was addressing her core homosexual constituency? Because Quinn was the civilian agent for a secretly-negotiated agreement (there were no public hearings) with the NYPD which gives the police full authority to restrict public assembly and public speech. . . This policy was never submitted to the Council for consideration; no statute supports this agreement and practice; it is the creation of the Speaker herself.”

Matthew Shepard assembly
“When Matthew Shepard was murdered, NYC queers . . . decided to march down 5th Avenue. The NYPD beat countless participants and arrested 96. Back then, Quinn was outraged by the cops’ behavior. How could she have changed so much since then that she has colluded with them to make this kind of political action even more difficult for all minorities and marginalized political groups?”

free assembly
When Quinn signed a back room deal with the NYPD to curb freedom of assembly in NYC, a local gay rights group “The military junta in Myanmar has ruled that five or more people cannot gather in the streets there. Does Speaker Quinn really believe the difference between a junta and a democracy is 45 people?”

housing committee- tenants
Quinn removes pro-tenant advocates from Council’s Housing Committee: “Gone from the committee were a trio of stalwart pro-tenant council members, Manhattan’s Gail Brewer, Brooklyn’s Letitia James, and Queens’s Melinda Katz. In their place were two of the council’s three Republicans.”

orgy of greed
“The incumbent speaker has led the city council in an orgy of greed, corruption, and deception unprecedented in New York’s modern political history.”

does the opposite
“She has promoted herself as a champion of (many) causes while doing just the opposite behind closed doors.”

letter about animals is puzzling
After pushing two useless bills (tethering and licensing) through the City Council overnight, Quinn boasted about her commitment to animal rights in a letter to constituents. In response, “You have a well-deserved record of being openly hostile or indifferent to our City’s animals, so we find your letter to be particularly puzzling.”

humane education
“As Council Speaker, you derailed a bill to enforce a long-standing State law requiring the teaching of humane education in our public schools. It was reported that you had no principled opposition to the bill. You simply disliked its sponsor.”

elepahants
Christine Quinn blocks bill to ban the use of wild animals in NYC circuses and refuses to hold a public hearing: “So far, 23 members of the Council have said they would vote “yes” to the legislation . . . The problem is, Christine Quinn is not among them. As speaker, Ms. Quinn decides when and if a bill is scheduled for vote.”
